Astrid Renew expands into Japan with new MD hire

Masahiro Ito joins Astrid Renew as Managing Director, Japan

13 November 2023, Singapore – Astrid Renew (“Astrid”), a 100% owned portfolio company of Seraya Partners, announced that that Masahiro Ito joins Astrid as Managing Director, Japan. Having served in the past 20 years as Japan Country Manager for numerous leading energy and engineering companies, Masahiro brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to guide Astrid’s market expansion into Japan.


Based in Tokyo, Masahiro holds a stellar track record for leading the new market entry of multiple global energy companies in Japan. He held leadership roles with P&L responsibilities at Amarenco, Baseload Capital, First Solar, BayWa R.E. and SunEdison. In the last 10 years, he has launched more than 200 MW of solar and geothermal projects making him the ideal choice for leading Astrid’s global footprint into the Japan market.


Masahiro holds an MBA from Boston College and received a Bachelor of Economics (International Business) from Keio University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (Structural Engineering) from Yomiuri Institute of Technology in Tokyo, Japan.
